The total betting handle for the month rose 9.6% to $2.15 billion, up from $1.96 billion in April 2024.

Online sports betting revenue in New York climbed to $192.7 million in April 2025, a 4.8% increase compared to the same month last year, according to figures published by the New York State Gaming Commission. The total betting handle for the month rose 9.6% to $2.15 billion, up from $1.96 billion in April 2024.

Despite a drop in handle from March’s near-record $2.44 billion, April’s revenue total marked a 19.1% month-on-month increase from March’s $161.8 million.

FanDuel maintained its lead in the market, reporting a handle of $822.5 million and generating $84.8 million in gross gaming revenue (GGR). DraftKings followed closely, handling $727.3 million in wagers and recording $66.8 million in GGR, according to operator-level data in the Commission’s monthly wagering report.

Caesars Sportsbook placed third in GGR, posting $15.1 million from a handle of $189.6 million. BetMGM generated $11.6 million in revenue from $160.4 million in bets. Meanwhile, newer entrants such as Fanatics and ESPN BET delivered smaller volumes but are continuing to gain traction in the state’s increasingly competitive market.

The April update comes shortly after the release of the state’s broader fiscal report, which revealed that total mobile sports betting revenue in New York reached $2.14 billion for the 2024 calendar year. Contributions to the state’s education fund from mobile sports wagering topped $1.1 billion over the same period.

A separate legislative proposal remains under review by the Assembly Committee on Racing and Wagering. The bill seeks to introduce new responsible gambling measures, including a $5,000 daily deposit cap, a ban on credit card use, and restrictions on advertising that features terms like “bonus” or “no sweat” bets.
