DAR ES SALAAM, TANZANIA: The National Lottery of Tanzania has officially welcomed Ithuba, a South African-based company, as its new management team, marking a significant milestone in the country’s gaming sector.
At a ceremony held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Dar es Salaam, it was announced that Ithuba has made a substantial investment of 50bn/- into the National Lottery. This initiative is designed to enhance the lives of Tanzanians and create additional investment opportunities within the nation.
Deputy Minister for Finance, Hamad Hassan Chande, spoke positively about the collaboration between the National Lottery and its new investor, Ithuba Tanzania. He emphasized that the lottery games are set to invigorate the economy while also providing a platform for local talent to flourish.
“This is an important opportunity for economic investment and community development, especially in nurturing young talent. It’s the right time for such an initiative, as the government has heavily invested in the sports sector, and with Tanzania’s football league now ranked sixth in Africa, I believe that we can reach fourth place next year.
