The Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB) has announced that it will hold a Responsible Gambling Summit in Johannesburg on November 13 and 14, 2025, at the prestigious Emperors Palace Hotel and Casino.
The summit which is happening for the second year aims to promote discussions around gambling responsibilities and address issues related to problem gambling.
In an announcement about the event, the Board stated, “Join us as we deliberate on gambling, responsible gambling and problem gambling issues.” This gathering will serve as a platform for industry stakeholders to come together and discuss strategies for promoting safer gambling practices.
The WCGRB has a statutory mandate to regulate all gambling and racing activities within the province, with the responsibility to impose necessary restrictions to mitigate the risks associated with gambling. The Board focuses on safeguarding society from excessive gambling while ensuring that players receive fair treatment.

To meet its objectives, the WCGRB issues licenses for gambling activities, backed by a comprehensive approach to monitoring and supervising the industry. This initiative is aimed at maintaining integrity and fairness across all gambling platforms.
In line with its legislative commitments, the Board is organizing the Responsible Gambling Summit as a means to unite key industry players. The summit will facilitate constructive dialogues, research initiatives, and the exchange of knowledge, all directed towards fostering responsible gambling practices.
With discussions focused on promoting safer gambling, the WCGRB invites all interested stakeholders to participate in this pivotal event aimed at addressing the challenges and responsibilities associated with gambling in the Western Cape.
