12/12/2024 Kampala, Uganda: The National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB) has reinforced its partnership with the Uganda Police Force in a significant move to combat the rising tide of illegal gaming in Uganda.
The two entities convened at the prestigious Kabira Country Club in Kampala, where they laid out collaborative strategies aimed at safeguarding communities and promoting responsible gaming practices.
The meeting, spearheaded by NLGRB’s Chief Executive Officer, Denis Mudene, witnessed the participation of notable police figures, including CP Ecega Richard and ACP Kituuma Rusoke, along with other key officers from the Uganda Police Force. Their unified presence signals an acute awareness of the challenges posed by illegal gaming and a commitment to addressing these issues head-on.
Central to the discussions was the shared goal of fostering safe gaming environments within Ugandan communities. The NLGRB and the Uganda Police Force delved into various initiatives designed to tackle illegal gaming effectively. Recognizing the detrimental effects of unregulated gambling, the meeting emphasized the importance of creating comprehensive awareness campaigns aimed not just at the public, but particularly targeting vulnerable groups, including minors.
