He stated, “I think it was probably the highlight of my career only because it’s all I’ve ever done,” reflecting on his lifelong journey in the iGaming sector.

The magazine provideed him an opportunity to share his story, detailing his remarkable ascent in the industry and Playtech’s plans for expanding its presence on the African continent. This initiative has not only served to highlight Munsamy’s professional evolution but has also been well-received by colleagues worldwide, showcasing the importance of collaboration and visibility in the iGaming ecosystem.

Despite the momentum in technology and innovation, Munsamy candidly addressed the ongoing challenges posed by regulation within the African market. He expressed that Africa’s diversity complicates regulatory processes, saying, “what makes Africa beautiful is that we’re so diverse, we’re so different.” This diversity results in varied regulatory frameworks, which can often create inconsistent experiences for operators within the same region.

He highlighted the importance of consultation in decision-making processes, stressing, “I think if we take a step back to have that consultation, better decisions are going to be made.” His vision for a more collaborative approach could lead to better outcomes for stakeholders, ultimately enhancing the entire ecosystem.

As Munsamy concluded the discussion, he emphasized the potential for open communication and collaboration between technology suppliers and regulatory bodies. “Open communication, open dialogue will definitely allow for people that have been there to help people that are yet to get there,” he asserted, signaling the need for unity in navigating the complexities of regulation in emerging markets.
