Mobile sports betting revenue in New York State surged by 20.4% year-on-year for the 2024-25 financial year, reaching an impressive US$2.1 billion, up from $1.8 billion in FY 2023-24, according to data released by the New York State Gaming Commission.
The total annual handle also climbed by 20.4%, rising from $19.9 billion to $23.9 billion, underscoring the Empire State’s continued dominance in the US sports betting market.
For the most recent reporting month—March 2025—handle reached $2.4 billion, a 16.3% increase from the $2.1 billionposted in March 2024. While this figure fell just short of January 2025’s record handle of $2.48 billion, it still marked a 23.5% increase over February’s $1.98 billion.
However, gross gaming revenue (GGR) for March 2025 dropped 3.1% year-on-year, from $166.97 million in March 2024 to $161.8 million. Month-on-month, GGR saw a more significant dip of 12.4%, falling from $184.8 million in February 2025.
Despite the monthly fluctuations in GGR, New York’s annual performance highlights the state’s continued growth as one of the largest and most active regulated betting markets in the US.
