Over the past 30 years, the Fund has invested £3.3 billion in over 10,300 historic building projects across the UK.

The National Lottery Heritage Fund has announced £27 million ($32.8 million) in grants to restore seven significant UK heritage buildings, including the historic Palais de Danse in St Ives, which will open to the public for the first time in 65 years.

The former dance hall and casino venue will receive £2.8 million to restore its 300-year history, highlighting its connection to renowned artist Barbara Hepworth.

Other notable projects include:

  1. Jumbo Water Tower, Colchester: Awarded £8 million to transform the Grade II listed structure into a heritage and events space.
  2. Canada House, Sheffield: Set to become Harmony Works, a music centre for young performers, with £4.7 million in funding.
  3. The Strand, Belfast: Northern Ireland’s last remaining art deco picture house will receive £768,000 for redevelopment.
  4. Kingsley Hall, Bristol: Granted £4.7 million to create opportunities for young people at risk of homelessness.
  5. Marchwell Stables, Chichester: Funding allocated for conversion into a community space.
  6. Old Royal High School, Edinburgh: Development into a cultural centre.
