In a show of support for the board’s initiatives, Esau Turyatunga, an economist in Uganda praised the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board and its leadership under Mudene. “I salute the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board led by Denis Mudene for the effective implementation of responsible gaming and their huge annual contribution towards our national budget,” Turyatunga said.
He further urged the Parliament of Uganda and Finance Minister Matia Kasaija to consider improving the board’s funding. “They should support the Board with 100% budget in order to have more revenue collected in taxes,” he added.
The Finance Committee’s review of the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board’s budget marks a crucial step towards enhancing Uganda’s regulatory framework and optimizing tax revenue from the gaming sector as the country prepares for the upcoming fiscal year.
