According to the Kentucky Horse Racing and Gaming Corporation, revenue stood at $32.3 million, down from $34.3 million in January 2024, but up 64.7% from December 2024’s $19.6 million.
The state’s online sports betting handle reached $270.99 million, marking a 14.4% increase year-on-year from $236.9 million in January 2024. However, it saw a 5.1% decline from December 2024’s $285.5 million.
Tax revenue from online betting totaled $4.6 million, reflecting a 5.2% drop from $4.9 million in January 2024, yet surging 59% from December’s $2.9 million.
Retail sports wagering in Kentucky generated a $6.1 million handle, with $696,882 in revenue and $54,811 in taxesfor January.
Since the launch of regulated online wagering in September 2023, Kentucky has recorded:
- $3.66 billion in online handle, generating $404.5 million in revenue and $57.8 million in taxes.
- $130.9 million in retail handle, contributing $10 million in revenue and $1 million in taxes since land-based betting began.
