iGaming supplier Bede Gaming has joined the UK market’s GamProtect scheme, a data-sharing initiative aimed at protecting vulnerable players. GamProtect launched in September 2023 and has gathered huge momentum in the industry.
As part of the single customer view system, Bede Gaming, a subsidiary of Merkur Gaming, will collaborate with operators to flag individuals showing potential signs of problem gambling. The marker-based system alerts participating companies when a customer is added to the GamProtect database.
Bede Gaming CEO Colin Cole-Johnson described the scheme’s expansion as “a critical step forward in helping to protect vulnerable customers from gambling harm.”
Kane Purdy, chair of GamProtect, welcomed Bede Gaming’s involvement, stating:
“Customer protection is front and centre for the industry, and innovators are seeing the value that GamProtect can provide.”
Bede’s early adoption of the scheme reflects a growing industry commitment to responsible gambling and enhanced player safeguards.
