BOMET, KENYA – National Super League (NSL) side APS Bomet FC has secured a major financial boost after signing a Ksh 5.5 million partnership deal with betting firm WR Bet.
The deal, which will run for five months, is expected to provide crucial financial support to the club, covering player welfare, logistics, and operational expenses.
WR Bet representatives reaffirmed their commitment to supporting grassroots football development in Kenya, emphasizing that the partnership aligns with their vision of empowering local sports talent.
‘‘This partnership will run for five months before the 2024/2025 NSL season ends, and we have donated 5.5 million Ksh, in addition to 270,000 Ksh for the kits,’’ said WR Bet Project Manager Antony Kawemba during the partnership announcement.
‘‘It’s a good initiative for us to partner with this club, and this will help the NSL side solve different challenges the club raised. The team is really striving for excellence, coming from the lower division and now at the 2nd tier league,’’ Kawemba added.
Club officials and players welcomed the sponsorship, expressing their gratitude for the much-needed financial boost. APS Bomet head coach acknowledged that the support would ease the club’s financial burdens, allowing the team to focus on performance without off-field distractions.
“This partnership is a game-changer for us. It will help in motivating the players, improving training conditions, and ensuring smooth operations as we push for promotion to the FKF Premier League,” he stated.
