The addition of IGT to the GCGRA’s approved list marks another significant step in the evolution of the UAE’s nascent gambling industry, which has seen an acceleration in activity since 2022.

International Game Technology (IGT) has become the latest major name to enter the United Arab Emirates’ regulated gambling space, now appearing as a licensed supplier on the General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority’s (GCGRA) official register.

The addition of IGT to the GCGRA’s approved list marks another significant step in the evolution of the UAE’s nascent gambling industry, which has seen an acceleration in activity since 2022. That year, Wynn Resorts signalled a major shift with the announcement of its $2bn integrated resort on Al Marjan Island—a development that recently received a further $2.4bn in funding.

Although no formal statement accompanied IGT’s licensing, the company’s name now sits alongside a select few international suppliers pioneering this newly regulated territory.

The last quarter of 2024 was particularly eventful. In December, The Game LLC hosted the UAE’s first regulated lottery draw, signalling a historic moment for the country. That same period saw Aristocrat Interactive make headlines as the first company to receive a GCGRA vendor licence—an achievement swiftly followed by Novomatic in early 2025.

Now, IGT joins this growing cohort of licensed providers, reinforcing the sense of momentum behind the UAE’s regulatory rollout.

In line with this rapid development, BMM Testlabs has also been approved to provide testing and certification services for gambling products in the region, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to establishing a robust, compliant market from the outset.
