In a sector driven by innovation and high stakes, her role is to ensure that no shortcuts are taken, no matter how minor they seem. “If you allow everybody to get away with a minor requirement… it becomes a jungle of who can get away with what,” she explained. Her work emphasizes the importance of standards, structure, and fairness, values often underappreciated but critical for their sustainable growth.

Gifty’s legal influence is matched by her advocacy for women in gaming. As an ambassador for Women in Gaming, she has witnessed significant, if gradual, changes in the landscape. “What I saw when I joined the industry, there weren’t a lot of women,” she recounted. Now in her ninth year in gaming, Gifty- Rita Amoah acknowledges the growth but remains clear-eyed about the challenges ahead.

This year’s AGE LAGOS event saw a notable increase in female participation, a shift that Gifty celebrates but also uses to highlight the ongoing need for more inclusive leadership. “Hopefully the diversity and inclusion conversation will grow… and we have more women in executive positions and in operational positions rather than just being support or back office,” she urged. Her call is not just for presence, but for power, ensuring women have seats at the decision-making tables.
