The new Nebraska casino offers slots, table games, simulcasting and sports betting.

WarHorse Casino has officially opened its latest casino in Omaha, Nebraska, according to a WOWT local news report. The casino let in first-time patrons following a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Casino guests now have access to 800 slot machines, table games, sports betting and simulcasting within the city of Omaha.

Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission Chairman Denny Lee told local news that state residents have waited a long time for legalized casino wagering.

He commented, “In 1934, the voters in Nebraska approved pari-mutuel wagering mostly at Aksarben and Fonner Park and here… 86 years later, they have approved casino wagering.”

With the opening of the new location, part of its future revenue will go to statewide property tax reduction.

WarHorse Casino CEO Lance Morgan explained the company’s role in reducing taxes and expressed its desire to provide relief to those who are living in poverty.

He told local news, “We’re doing our part to try to reduce property taxes. Other people need to do their part – that’s a different story.

“The Winnebago people were minding their own business in 1825 and got kicked around by the government, showed up in Nebraska 50 years later, and we’ve been here struggling with poverty ever since. And this is one of the big steps out of it.”

WarHorse Gaming is a division of its parent company, Ho-Chunk, Inc. The company is currently regulated by the Nebraska Gaming Commission.

WarHorse Gaming signed an on-property sportsbook agreement with Kambi that resulted in the launch of Nebraska’s first sportsbook at WarHorse Casino Lincoln. Under the terms of the deal, WarHorse Gaming will debut its Lincoln casino sportsbook, with another sportsbook launch at WarHorse Casino Omaha.
